My fellow reenactors,
The 11th annual Vista reenactment on March 5-6 is nearly here. I hope that you are making plans to attend and will be joining us at the Antique Gas & Steam Museum!
You may arrive after noon on Friday. The reenactor registration fee will be $2.00. The museum will offer a $7.00 breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday. A $7.50 tri-tip dinner will be offered on Saturday night.
As usual, firewood, straw, and hay for horses will be provided. (Horsemen, let me know you are coming in advance so that hay will be available for your mount.) Of course, besides the two battles each day, there will be a dance on Saturday night in the Assembly Hall.
The event schedule should be posted on the web site in a day or two, but there are no great surprises coming and most of you receiving this message "know the drill."
Minors, download the release and have a parent sign it before you attend the event if a parent will not be there with you. In addition, note that a medical authorization must also be signed by a parent if a parent will not be there with you. Both the release and the authorization will be placed on the web site in a day or two. There is no need for anyone else to download the release in advance of coming to the event.
As usual, there will plenty of food during the day for those who do not want to cook. I am checking, but I certainly expect that the spaghetti dinner will be available again on Saturday evening, as well as the breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning. I will confirm this in another message.
Directions from LA: Take I-5 to Oceanside. Go east on Hwy. 76 about 6 miles to N. Santa Fe Road. Turn right there and go about 2 miles to 2040 N. Santa Fe Road and turn right there to enter the museum grounds.
I will see you in Vista!
